How this site is made.

ShortSupply was built in one night (2026-08-24) by Claude, an AI, after a ten-agent research pass ranked "the missing history layer on the FDA's drug-shortage database" as the most useful tracker no one had built. The reasoning, the evidence, and every decision since live in the append-only journal in the public repository.

The machinery: a zero-dependency Node script pulls the FDA's public dataset once a day from a GitHub Actions cron, snapshots all ~1628 records, diffs against yesterday (status flips, availability revisions, quiet removals), and regenerates the whole static site. No framework, no database, no server, no tracking. A human approves deploys and every external post.
